Remarkable price for such a spectacular project

I found Sans Soucie on the internet; and my wife and I visited their Palm Desert shop in 2015 because of their unique design talents with glass. So when I envisioned my project of a high end book case using a ... Read More I found Sans Soucie on the internet; and my wife and I visited their Palm Desert shop in 2015 because of their unique design talents with glass. So when I envisioned my project of a high end book case using a Tudor diamond design using beveled glass, I contacted them. They immediately understood my project and gave me a remarkable price for what I wanted. They were beyond easy to work with and recommended shipping the doors for the bookcase to them so that we avoided any measurement mistakes. When I received the finished product, it was remarkably well packed on its own pallet in a wooden crate and was undamaged after a 2,600 mile road trip. As you can see by the attached photo, the end result is remarkable and represents the most spectacular built-in bookcase/credenza we have ever seen. We are delighted because it surpassed even our expectations of its final appearance. Sans Soucie is trustworthy and delivers incredible results.

Everyone who visits comments on how extraordinary they are. (I wish I could get a better photo of them.) I was so afraid that if the door slammed, the glass would crack. So far, 3 heavy slams but no damage. I don’t recommend slamming the doors but the times they did were from a draft caused by windows being open upstairs and downstairs. In addition to the full size doors, my salesperson was able to replicate the design for the small cabinet over the refrigerator where I store seldom used items. Sans Soucie is an easy to communicate with professional outfit and they sure do know their business. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for unique items for your home.

The three etched glass privacy doors are perfect because they afford total privacy to the room yet transmit light through for a very open and spacious feel. The double mirrored master bath door is a custom created solution that allows a full dress mirror embedded into the door on both the bedroom and bathroom sides of the door -- much more elegant than nailing a mirror to the door or a wall! As wonderful as the products they make is the family who produces them. Throughout the entire process, I felt like I was dealing with people I had known all my life even though I just happened to discover them on the Internet. Chelsea, LeeAnn and the rest of the family at Sans Soucie excelled with clear communication, patience in walking me through many options, and excellent shipping protection for the long boat ride across the ocean. I loved the BAHAMA Leaf pattern for our front doors, but wanted it altered somewhat for more transparency. Chauncey accommodated my wishes and created a slightly different pattern for us. Our house is still under construction, but the front doors are in and all my neighbors LOVE them (as do we). I cannot recommend this team more highly – they are extremely professional, artistic, and accommodating. There is great attention to detail and craftsmanship. When I spoke to the young lady in customer service she told me to remove the clear plastic protective sheet and I will not be able to see through it. I thought she was kidding. She said “trust me just remove the film”. Well, we removed it and like a miracle we couldn’t see through the window. It was subsequently installed and unbelievably no one can see through. Not even a shadow. The under sea scene is just beautiful and everyone who sees it raves about its uniqueness and beauty. The window seemed like an expensive alternative to a shade or shutters but now that it is installed it is worth every penny. Do not hesitate to spend the money to purchase a window of your liking. The first door arrived in excellent condition. I only realized when I went to install it that is was not a 24” wide door but it was a 28” wide door and would not fit. Factory oops. But, what could I do with such a large return? How to do it? I called customer service. To my surprise, they told me to keep the wider door and immediately sent out the 24” wide. Simple. No return packaging, no fuss, just great customer service! Now I have a great working door. The other door? I French cleated the larger door to the wall and back lit it as art. Many thanks Sans Soucie!

After researching other companies, we decided to go with Sans Soucie to design our shower panel. We were able to work extensively with Shelby Jenkins and our artist, Julius Espiritu. We are extremely pleased with the quality and production of our bathroom piece. We were able to personally design the panel to our liking and desire; and this team did an awesome job in designing exactly what we wanted. It is more costly than a lot of other walls we looked at, but the thing that makes the cost acceptable; is the ability to design your own special piece. Delivery from their West Coast shop to my East Coast house went flawlessly. Although the artwork was packed perfectly, I must admit I was glad to see it was in one piece when I unwrapped it. The curbside delivery was awful: instead of delivering this expensive door in a professional way and bring it with a forklift or whatever to our door, the heavy door was dropped next to the street and we had to carry it ourselves to our house. As this very well packaged door was extremely heavy, we had to cut the door out of the crate and the packaging in the street, so my wife and I could carry this glass door via a long driveway to our house. We could hardly carry it and were very worried we would damage the door - and our backs.

During our kitchen remodel (Lakewood, Colorado 80215) the inspector almost did not pass the door because "tempered" was not stamped on the glass itself- even tho our invoice said "tempered" and I explained it was not stamped as it was art glass. I had to get a certificate from your glass manufacturer which I hope will satisfy him. Perhaps such a certificate should be automatically generated with each piece to avoid this confusion?

From my first contact they were very friendly and helpful

I'm so glad I found Sans Soucie! I wanted to get special glass panels for the shower we were building in our new master suite, and a matching decorative window for that bathroom. From my first contact they were... Read More I'm so glad I found Sans Soucie! I wanted to get special glass panels for the shower we were building in our new master suite, and a matching decorative window for that bathroom. From my first contact they were very friendly and helpful and worked with me to create beautiful plumeria panels. They started with a photo I took of a vase that has plumeria flowers. Their artist and I discussed it, and we agreed we needed more than the flowers, so I sent a photo of our plumeria plant that has nice looking leaves, and he drew a beautiful design from these. First he did a quick mockup to get the elements and their size and placement. I asked for some changes, and then he sent me a detailed computer drawing. We made a couple small tweaks and then it went to production. A few weeks later, they emailed me a status update with some pictures of my glass being made, which was really neat. A few weeks later it was delivered, and now it is in place. It looks amazing! During the process they answered many questions I had and gave me detailed installation directions and diagrams to give to my contractor to ensure the shower walls were built to suit and to give to the glazier for installation. We handled almost all of this by email, and they were always very quick to reply. They were truly a pleasure to work with. I've attached photos of the shower and window glass with detailed closeups. The etching is so sharp and precise, I admire it every day. It's so elegant. Zoom in to see! (Note: I posted 5 photos but only 3 are showing. I tried to fix this, but the 2 showing closeups are still missing.) A few details to help anybody who wants to achieve a similar result for their own idea: - The plumeria shower panel and window are 3D carvings, cut deep into the glass. The shower panel is done on clear glass which is not private, and the window was done with frosted glass for full privacy (since it is in an outside wall of the house). - During the day, the window gives plenty of natural light to our bathroom vanity area, so I don't need to turn on lights, which is very nice. - The vertical bar pattern of the other shower panel is a simple 1D etching on clear glass. Bars are 3/8" wide separated by 1/8" clear. It makes a neat effect, but it's not enough for privacy. For privacy you might need to reduce the clear lines to 1/16". They can advise you on this. - All 3 panels are low iron (Starphire) glass which is very white not green. It costs more, but I wanted a pure white effect. Any blue tint in the picture comes from the shower tile. - LED edge lighting makes it come alive. It makes a huge difference in showing the detail and beauty of the glass. I used FlexFire UB-DS-42K tapelight. 4200K (pure white), 3/8" wide, 12v connected to a Zurik dimmable transformer connected to a Diva CL dimmer switch, which works great. It's 463 Lm/Ft so it's very bright. I couldn't find sealed/waterproof tapelights this narrow (to fit in a 3/8" channel), so after I stuck them to the bottom of the channel (self-adhesive), I spread about a 1/16" layer of silicone on them carefully to seal out water. So far so good. - Silicone is: M.G. Chemicals 1035 Premium RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant which is non-corrosive and safe for electronic circuit boards. It also serves to cushion the glass so the little rubber blocks aren't used. - The window comes with a second flat pane of glass which is sealed to it, to 3/4 inch overall thickness to be put into a window frame. I ordered a custom-sized window from Milgard of the same style as my other windows and then took it to a glazier to replace the Milgard glass with the Sans Soucie glass. This was surprisingly reasonable cost. I highly recommend Sans Soucie to anybody who wants a beautiful custom art glass creation for their home or business.
